Diabetes Reversal

If the patient sticks to the prescribed instructions, diabetes may be effectively reversed within 3 to 6 months through eating idli, dosa, chapati, balanced meals, specific herbal decoctions, and regular walking for exercise.

There are three key parts in diabetes treatment.

Food

Exercise

Medicine

Food

When considering the three main components, it becomes evident that food holds the utmost significance. It is not only a major contributor to the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus, but also plays a pivotal role in both the prevention and reversal of this condition. In the context of Ayurveda, the recommendation for individuals with diabetes mellitus is to incorporate YAVAM into their diet as it has been suggested as beneficial for their condition.

YAVAM

YAVAM is a variety of Barley. Yavam contains more Beta glucan fiber content than in Barley. Yavam is an ingredient in many Ayurvedic preparations. Yavam is the richest source of Beta-glucan soluble and insoluble fiber among grains. Yavam is a superfood. It contains a lot of vitamins, minerals, and metals and is rich in protein. According to Ayurveda, Yavam should be purified by boiling it in Triphala decoction to avoid side effects before consuming it daily. Triphala is a concoction of 3 dried fruits of Phylanthus emblica, Terminalia bellirica, and Terminalia chebula in a particular proportion. After boiling yavam in thriphala decoction, it becomes brown with a foul smell. Then it will not be palatable. To make it palatable, it should be deodorized and decolorized without losing its medicinal qualities. If it is deodorized and decolorized by existing chemical methods, it will negatively affect the result when used in diabetes treatment and weight reduction therapies. So, we have developed a special natural method, without any chemicals, to decolorize and deodorize it.

Beta Glucan Soluble and Insoluble Fiber Yavam is the richest source of Beta-glucan fiber. Beta-glucan fiber reduces calorie intake and promotes fat burning which results in weight reduction. Weight reduction means a reduction in excess fat in the body. When excess fat is reduced, it reduces insulin resistance, resulting in better glucose control and better functions of internal organs including the endocrine system. It reduces cholesterol and controls blood sugar levels. It prevents the absorption of cholesterol from food. In addition to that Beta-glucan fiber minimizes the craving for food.

Glycemic index (GI)

The glycemic index of a food is the rate at which the blood sugar level rises after consumption of that food. YAVAM has the lowest GI among all the grains. The average GI of YAVAM is 25 and the average GI of rice is 73. If the GI of a food is low, then the blood sugar spike after consuming that food will be slow.

Reduce your weight as per Body Mass Index (BMI) Our doctors or dietitians suggest, traditional food items prepared from YAVAM (Purified as per Ayurvedic principle). You can consume tasty Idly, Dosa, Chapati, and resistant starch-rich rice, (from this rice one can prepare and consume meals, biriyani, fried rice, pulao, Pongal, khichdi, etc.) and do simple aerobic exercise, especially walking. It increases metabolic rate and controls appetite. When it reduces appetite, it will help you to satisfy with a reduced quantity of food. When you consume a reduced quantity of nutrient-rich food along with moderate exercise, especially walking, the energy requirement of the body will be increased. Then the body will depend on stored fat for energy, and as a result, fat will be decomposed into energy, carbon dioxide, and water. You can reduce your weight (Excess Fat in the body) very easily. When you reduce excess fat in your body, insulin resistance in the body will be reduced and utilization of the insulin will be increased. When insulin in the body works well, blood sugar will be reduced. Increase your gut health by increasing the volume and diversity of good microbiomes. Eating beta-glucan-rich idly, dosa, chapati, and resistant starch-rich  meals, curd rice, Pongal, pulao, khichdi, etc. will increase the gut health

Medicines

Medicine is the second most important aspect of diabetes treatment. Diabetes is a disease that destroys the blood vessels of the patient. When the elasticity of the blood vessels decreases and the BP is increased, the chances of stroke are very high. So, protecting the blood vessels is one of the most important aspects of diabetes treatment. Our doctors prescribe individual kashayam to patients based on their body constitution. This kashayam is full of natural antioxidants and micronutrients that can protect the blood vessels from damage, prevent cell damage, increase the production of insulin, decrease insulin resistance, and reduce associated problems of diabetes like diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic foot, severe fatigue, diabetic nephropathy (kidney problem) High BP, etc.

Exercise

In addition to medication and diet, regular physical activity is a vital component of diabetes management. Among various forms of exercise, walking is often suggested as a particularly beneficial option. It is a low-impact activity that can help control blood sugar levels, improve cardiovascular health, and aid in weight management. Furthermore, walking is easily accessible and can be incorporated into daily routines, making it a practical and sustainable choice for individuals with diabetes.
